Chiropractic

Chiropractic is a safe and effective technique which treats the muscular skeletal system as a whole including the joints of the spine and body, muscles, ligaments, tendons and the neuro vascular system. Chiropractic uses manipulative techniques (adjusting/manipulation) and non-manipulative techniques (soft tissue massage, traction, mobilisation, stretching exercise prescription) in an attempt to reduce pain.

The primary focus is to increase joint movement in a restricted joint which through a series of releases in the body reduces the pain. Postural advice, exercise and retraining the body then assist to maintain correct alignment, including normal joint function and muscle length and hence reduce the potential for re injury.

Chiropractic treats a broad range of injuries affecting the body including

  • Sciatica and low back pain
  • RSI
  • Disc injuries of the neck and low back
